Suggestions for fluorocarbon strings on Pono MS

I recently bought an used Pono MS Soprano that came with Aquila New Nylgut strings that I don’t like at all (while I really like the Super Nylgut that I have on my Kala soprano).

I would try fluorocarbon strings but after reading many reviews of many brands I’m a bit confused so I decided to ask here for an advice.

If it could help I play mainly old swing with a bit aggressive strumming, no finger style, and since sometimes I play with other instruments I would like a bit of volume.

My favorites are worth CT's and Uke Logics (both soft tensions and hard tensions). Strings are a personal preference. I like good volume as well. All my ukes are currently strung with Uke Logics.

I'd start with the commonly found (and relatively cheap) Martin M600, then go from there, if necessary.

I’ve always been partial to Oasis strings. They are double length, so you get 2 string changes for a good price. Ponos tend to like thicker strings, so get the warm set.

I am probably in the Minority here but I am not a fan of fluorocarbons on Mahogany Pono's. I have owned a number of sopranos, concerts, and tenor mahogany Pono's and I find the Ko'olau Mahana to be the best for me. I have tried string set after string set but I have not found a set of fluorcarbons that work for me on these ukes yet, and I generally love fluorocarbons.

Tons of choices, buy a few different packs and try them till you find what YOU like. Uke Logic, Worth and Oasis are all good places to start.

I have owned up to six various Ponos at a time and found all these brands worked for me on various Ponos. I have cut my Pono heard down to two. Each one may like a different string set. Experiment. It's your ears and fingers.
