About half an hour ago, I heard a familiar engine noise, so I grabbed my camera and dashed outside, just in time to shoot a Spitfire cruising overhead. The light was already starting to fail, so it's not a good photo, but it's such a rare even that I'm pleased to have got anything.

It is one of the clipped wing types, with cannons and a four bladed propeller. I remember seeing Spitfires flying over during WWII. It's great that they are still around.

Rare sight, indeed.

(I'm not an airplane or WW2 buff, I learned about Spitfires because I've owned a few Triumph Spitfires!)

Loren, you are clearly a person of good taste!

And a glutton for punishment. I kind of want to buy another Spitfire. (last one was close to 15 years ago, I currently have an older Miata in the garage)
