Tommy (IamNoMan) called me just now to ask that I let you all know, on Saturday, while away at the Philly Folk Fest weekend getaway, he fell and broke his hip and femur. He's in good spirits and is doing well ... and is in Elmer, NJ ... several hours from home.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) he goes in for surgery ... scheduled for 12:30pm ET.

He would love your prayers and well wishes for a successful surgery. Songs are great too!

He does not currently have any way to access the internet, but he should have a laptop some time tomorrow.

_____________________________

Added Tuesday morning:
There are all sorts of things I did not have the presence of mind to ask:

1) Does he have a uke with him?
(I should imagine he does ... he was at a folk music getaway weekend when it happened. Plus, he mentioned the lack of internet ... he'd have surely mentioned lack of uke if he didn't!)

2) Does he welcome phone calls?
(Again, I'm gonna guess yes. This is Tommy we're talking about ... if there's one thing we know, the man loves to talk and connect with other humans. I have his cell number and will share it with you if you PM me. By Facebook if we're connected there, please ... otherwise here. He may need to rest and not talk ... in which case, I'm sure he can turn his ringer off, or say no ... and call you back when he is ready. So I don't imagine there's much harm in it. STRUM people may already have his number.)

3) How long is the surgery?
(Sorry, I have no idea. He did say something about them putting in a pin. It seems it's the femur that's broken ... near the hip attachment, maybe ... he wasn't completely clear.)

4) When does he return home?
(That I did ask ... he said he thought around Friday.)

5) How long is the recovery?
(That he volunteered ... I believe he said 8 to 10 weeks was what he'd been told.)

I have made a playlist for your lovely song contributions for Tommy's speedy healing.

It just occurred to me this song of mine is fairly appropriate, and has a whole verse about health and well-being that is spot-on for your current circumstances, my friend!

(And balloons! That ought to cheer you up.)

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

oh tommy - thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery

wendy says you should have a laptop soon

the big question is - have you got a uke?

i read somewhere that the uniquely sweet musical tones from a ukulele have been proven to be at the perfect frequency to facilitate bone healing

i may have made that last bit up, but i bet it's true!

keep rockin'!

Tommy, Here's to feeling better and getting around soon. This is a marshland in Beaverton, Oregon. I visit the bridge each day and take a pic from the same spot. Feel better and get back on your uke.

Hey there Tommy --

Now don't go dyin on me as there's still lots of things we still need to talk about, and lots of music yet to be made...

Sorry you got injured, hopefully it's not the 'bad leg' YIKES!

I wish you a speedy recovery and as little pain as possible so that you may regain all of your previous abilities and maybe even surpass them!

I will be sending healing vibes to you as much as possible, you are in my thoughts brother!

I am certain it must be true!

You know, the whole time Tommy and I were chatting (and it was a while ... as you know, we both can talk!), I kept thinking there were more questions I should be asking ... that was the first one I thought of when I got off. (I was tired from my own getaway music weekend away, and trying to get the post written and run it by him while he was simultaneously feeding me information non-stop ... my poor little easily overwhelmed head was spinning.)

Anyway, he was at a folk music weekend getaway when it happened ... so I would guess the answer is YES ... surely he must have a uke with him.

Laptop is so he can get on here and tell you all himself ... since he obviously chose to call the Seasonista least likely to be able to absorb any actual useful information and get it to you!

I also neglected to ask whether he wants phone calls ... but I'd guess yes ... he sure does love talking with other humans. If no at particular times, he doesn't have to answer or can call back when he's ready ... and he can turn the phone and/or ringer off. So I'd imagine it can't hurt.

Most of us who went to STRUM have his cell number, I think. If you want it, please PM me. (If we're connected on Facebook, PM me there ... otherwise here.)

I'll start a playlist for all your lovely musical contributions and put it in the first post for him.
