Hmmm. Not melodic. Not funny. Not uplifting. Your ears & tastes may differ. "To each his or her own," as Princess Snicklefritz said when she kissed the frog.

There was a piece written about his playing origins in the second Ukulele Special from Fretboard Journal. It’s worth picking up.

Correct--totally not melodic and not uplifting. And, totally not the point of his playing, and certainly not the point of the show, to be, melodic nor uplifting. I would say it works super well at that it intends to do in context.

William Macy and Kate Micucci playing ukes and singing: "It's Time to Get Laid", about Prom night. (NSFW lyrics by Kate.) If you are offended by risque songs--don't watch.

This was my first introduction to Macy playing the uke. And singing!

The song has exactly the same tone as his TV show. It's not for everyone and probably not for most people either.
