Cordoba Concert + Case + Books Excellent $125<SOLD>

I've put my Cordoba on Craig's List in the SF Bay Area, just look up "cordoba concert uke" and you'll find it. I've got a hard case, books, extra strings, with it. If you're looking at a good uke and accessories for getting started on, or the next step up from a cheapie, this is a good deal...

Tried a bit of busking in Santa Cruz

I was up in Santa Cruz for a few days so on the 3rd day I got the uke out and tried playing on Pacific Avenue. I'm a real beginner so I knew I'd not sound all that great. In fact, I found that my voice would shrink like a mouse while I was trying to get the chords right - I need a LOT more...

Viewing Ukulele Mike's videos in order - how to do it?

Ukulele Mike's videos are a Godsend for we beginners. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to view them in order. I'd like to go through them 1...2... 3... etc. Otherwise, I'm finding songs I like but they're like video number 244 or something and go too fast for me hehe. Anyone figure out...

    I further mutilate my uke

I have my uke hanging off of a hook that *someone* put up here (this old trailer's had a number of denizens, most of them human, few possums etc too, over the years) and at first I was using a loop of blind cord that went around two of the tuners but it was a bit clumsy and took two hands to...

    Life is what happens ....

When you are doing other things. That's a saying, that basically means, well, ever notice how you have these vivid memories of times when you were busy doing stuff, fully engaged in something? I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well. Maybe I'm not good with words. But let me talk about my...

    Hang out with your uke

I live in a very small (25 foot) trailer, jammed full of books, tools, work-space, etc. I had my uke, in its nice case, on top of a bookshelf in the bedroom in the back. It was safe, but when I was sitting up front here at my computer, I'd get the urge to mess around on it and it was too much...

    Camera strap

Here's another idea on a cheep uke strap. I was out garage-sale'ing with a friend, picked up a buncha stuff, and found a little camera strap like you'd get with a digi camera, so it's yellow and says "Canon" on it, the label is sewn on so I can take that off, and a goofy yellow color's OK with...

Make a Conspiracy Strap for your uke!

OK well, nothing very conspiratorial about it, it's just a neat strap. I think so anyway! I took some 1/2" ribbon, this isn't package-wrapping ribbon, this is stuff from a sewing store called "grosgrain", for use in sewing rather than the cheapo stuff used to wrap packages. I got it to make a...

If you love your uke, drill a hole in it!

I feel a strap is essential on a uke, if you're going to be playing it anywhere other than in your nice living room, with a carpeted floor, etc so falls aren't catastrophic. So, I priced those little buttons at Guitar Center and they wanted $9 for two of them! Uhh, no thanks! I dug around here...

The bad Mitchell, the good Cordoba

I got a concert Mitchell at Guitar Center on sale, $99, and got busy so I didn't have time to put the $8 Aquila strings I got on it. A month goes by, I finally get around to messing with it .... first, and this had been the case since it was new, it would never stay in tune. Well, I tuned it up...
