Another take -- I have all my sheet music digitized, so it's on my iPad in it's case, which acts as a stand. :)

As long as it doesn't affect the overall sound/playability, I wouldn't worry too much!

I use the middle of my index nail. It holds up fine compared to steel guitar strings.. :)
