  • Dave is chief of the Alderville First Nations and was asked to talk about First Nations, but a lot of blues gets played here.
Howdy Brian, Sorry I had to leave early, but Maggie and I wanted to watch our buddy Dave Mowatt and our son (also our buddy) Clayton playing (actually a video of a show done before the Truth & Reconciliation Day last summer) Clay and Dave usually play in an electric blues band called Dave Mowatt and The Curbside Shuffle, but for this show, they did a Sonny & Brownie type show.
Hi Brian - there's a long and short version on youtube - I've added the lyrics to the descriptions
the short version doesn't include the verse and bridge in brackets
    Water original
    lyrics
I carry ships I shape the land
I crack and turn the rocks to sand
I fill the sea I block the sun
    within me dwell leviathans

(I roll down cheeks to show child's pain
I'm raging storm and gentle rain
I reveal the colours in sun's light
I paint the tops of mountains white

I quickly turn the drought to flood
Giver of life the planet's blood
I'm tumbling rivers a ceaseless flow
Clouds of grey and hail and snow)

I quench thirst feed giant trees
I cradle souls who sleep in me
I gouge the earth with glacier's tongue
I once was pure but look what you’ve done

    cheers Brian
Hey Brian - I was trying to figure out your song, "Water" from one of your old videos. I got most of the lyrics but one line got caught in your beard ; )
Do you mind editing and filling in the blank for me? Thanks!
