How wide do you make the fan braces?

What's a tone bar? Show a photo.

Mine are 3/16”. Keep in mind that variations in the width of the brace affect the stiffness linearly, while variations in the height are a cube function. And for everyone’s information, the term tone bars is for the top braces of archtop instruments. They are tuned during construction to voice the instrument and are generally not needed structurally.

Yes, I’m talking about the three fan braces
Don't really go by strict measurements, but about 3/16th. Sitka spruce. I put a small patch under the back (toward the heel block) of the center brace to distribute the force a little bit to compensate for bridge rotation. Not sure it does anything, but it's my thing. Patch is thin and about 3/4 inch square.
