Same here!
Welcome to another Mandolin Cafe expatriate.
Hmm.........let's see. It was a long time ago, but one of the first was "All My Lovin''. Don't actually remember the first for sure-could be the Banana Boat Song.
Rent a mandolin. Fastest way to calluses....... Seriously though, sorry about the table saw accident.
Plus 1. If you're a beginner, it's a really good resource!
To check the C string with your tuner, play it without fretting (open) then fret at the 12th fret - should be an octave apart (in other words the next higher C). If it isn't then the intonation is...
Hard to tell the difference on my computer using headphones to listen. I guess #1 was a bit more mellow (whatever that means), so that would edge out #2, but really not a meaningful difference to...
Man, if I were you (and based on this situation I'm glad I'm not ha ha), I would distance myself immediately. On the other hand seeing as how you're from NY, perhaps you should encourage her to take...
Well, I moved up slightly from plywood to a solid top. Just in is a Flight Antonia T with low G (all Worth Browns) from Mim. Great improvement over the other two. Will switch one of those back to...
Thanks! Something I've wondered about ever since I came back to the uke about a year ago. All the other instruments I play are "linear" as are all my uses (low G). I may shift one over to...
So, it's gCEA. Or "high G". Then there's low G. So, why is high G called re-entrant? Where did this term come from? Inquiring minds want to know.......
Thanks!
+1 on Ukeleash
I am probably wrong here, but if you capo a guitar at the 5th fret and play the top four strings, you have GCEA. Same as low G tuning. The g vs G is not material IMHO. I am a low G player as well...
Oh! You’ll definitely hear from her, especially if whatever she ends up with is not to her liking. Sounds like a hopeless situation to me.
I just bought an Islander AT-4, so I can have both a high and low G. So now I have two all laminate ukes. So, provided I stick with it this time, my next will be an all solid Pono or...
Thanks all. I appreciate it. Once I sell a guitar or mandolin, looks like a Pono-maybe the hog; maybe the Acacial
So, what do you think? Mainland, Kala, Ohana, Pono or ???
Thanks
A long time ago I took a quiz to determine what superhero I most closely related to who you ask? Deadpool of course-hence the user name...
OK, I'll tell you what.............let's skip the whole thing. Ive seen people who are too serious or have no sense of humor, but really......

+1. OK to PM if you prefer.
As a guitar finger picker, it seems more logical to go with low G, but curious as to popular opinion....
Looks to me like the seller attempted to remove it without success. So much for easy removal. The bigger question is why was it on there in the first place?
Depends. You could do a mix with all your favorites on it. But, if that seems “cheap”, then it depends on taste. Personally, I’d go with the Eddie Vedder CD.
