    I've seen some that do, some that don't. On the whole though they are better than average in my experience. Kala have a pretty good QC system in place. But still, things can slip through.

    To be honest, the scruffy bridge, poor bookmatch...

    Yeah - came out higher than i expected. But...

    Yeah - came out higher than i expected. But then.. the build is 'generally ok' and I do like the dark looks too. The price also drags the score up. Not a recommendation though.

    All I can suggest is keeping away from spruce, and cedar.. Look for all mahogany or walnut topped ukuleles. Saying that, my Kanile'a Koa tenor is really warm and woody sounding.
