Make sure the string slot is large enough for the string diameter. The double-edged nut files from StewMac work well (.032/.026 and .012/.020).

My thoughts exactly! Hope the buyer is a UU member and posts a review.

Apparently the builder also offers courses to build instruments.

Saw some nice looking instruments by Nicholas Lenski under his Brier Road Guitars label. Anyone familiar with his work or instruments?

    He's located in western Massachusetts....

I've had a Mya-Moe POC/Sycamore baritone in reentrant dgbe as well as linear dgbe.
Both tunings were nice, but overall I think I prefer it linear.

    I've bought a stack of 32x12x10 boxes from U-line.
They are about $2 a box, right sized for up to tenors and ship well.
It will cost much more than $2 using too big a box.

Thanks. This particular Favilla is a bit nicer sounding than the last one I had.

"Delicate" is fair description of the Martin dimensions compared to the more beefy Favilla.

  15. Comparisons of Vintage Baritones: Martin, Favilla, Harmony, etc.

Over the years I've had a couple Favilla baritones, a Silvertone (Harmony) baritone, and most recently a Martin baritone. All were mahogany and sounded great, but somewhat different. Currently I...

I like Virtuoso polish better for vintage lacquer finishes. Howard's did a fine job on helping to clean-up this Favilla's body as well as the fretboard. Howard's is my go-to fretboard conditioner.

You might want to find and contact the luthier behind SouthCoast ukes, Omar Corrales. I believe he was located in Costa Rica. Good luck with the search.
