thanks for the comments. I have short fingers for my height so i can only use thumb to mute the E but not the A. I am able to bend my B string to mute the high e but cant quite imagine muting the A....

I started James Hill's course but didnt get far. I think it was in that course he said that the notes that stand out in a chord are

1. the highest note
2. The last note
3. the lowest note
4....

I think if you tune them all slightly differently then it isn't an addiction anymore. It is a purely rational and practical decision. Re-entrant and linear count as different tunings.
