I just recently purchased a Pono MB-6. It is a 20" scale length baritone. I had a Cordoba Mini a couple years back, but the Pono is so much better in terms of quality, playability, tone, and sustain....
Hi Larry, I'm glad you like it. You're welcome. I did my best on the pictures. The lighting around the pool table is good, plus I like the woods on it, so I thought it would make a nice backdrop. :)
Wow, glad they are working out for you. I will probably settle with just 1. :)
I'm happy to hear you like it. I do too. That's why I wanted to provide a review of it, plus it's a new product out there. Enjoy!
Larry, I don't think you will be disappointed with this, especially given your experience with their guitar stands. I was trying to decide between the folk instrument stand that you speak of and this...
I like your picture, nicely done.
Thanks for your replies. There's not a lot of customer feedback out there yet on this uke version. Maybe this little bit helps. :)
Well, I guess ya'll have reasons to dislike these. I'll just carry on with mine, that's what matters. Thought a review on this new stand might be useful, but....not.
I just received my new Hercules uke stand, the UKS100B, that I think they just introduced last fall. It is adjustable (height) to fit any size uke, it has their Auto Grip System, and it has foam...
Congrats Larry. I got the full set-up on my Pono too. HMS does a great job, it is definitely worth the wait. Be sure to post a review when you get it.
Another vote for Shubb. I've used them for all my instruments for over 40 years.
Adjustable....helps with intonation
Low Profile...doesn't get in way of fretting hand and fits in your pocket...
On my 20" baritone-sized Pono, you can tune E-e using the D'Addario hard tension strings that come on it, or better yet, use the D'Addario extra hard tension strings.
I agree. This is my first Pono, and I bought it based on what people said about it here on the forum. I'm not disappointed. I think the conservative look on this Pono is so nicely done. I love it's...
Hi. No, I don't play Merle Travis, but I do a variety of other artists/genres. I love John Denver, but I also play bluegrass and even gospel tunes. After you try out your new guilele, and if you like...
I just got a solid mahogany Pono Guilele from Hawaii Music Supply. It is baritone size with a 20" vsl. It can be tuned A-a, G-g, or E-e. I love everything about it.....it's workmanship, playability,...
That's great. Yes, I really like their straps and the selection.
I bet they are. Lots of choices from Levy.
I was looking for a new strap for my Pono.....one that was narrow, so I could leave it on while in the case. I purchased this strap from Amazon (available from other sellers too):

Looks like my Pono 6 string guilele is about the same size. I have settled in to the G-g tuning too. It just sounds perfect with that tuning. Enjoy!

Depends. On the nicer ukes, binding can be nicely done. Binding on cheap ukes sometimes looks cheap. I have a Pono with no binding, and it actually has a real classy conservative look without...
Awesome, have fun!
