Gold Tone Music is giving away three (3) Little Gem Banjoleles. A red one, a white one and a blue one. I saw it on Facebook.
I don’t know whatcha gotta do. Check it out if you’re interested. ...
I gave all my back copies away . . . :old:
“Dots” is just another word for regular staff music. It’s used a lot on the UU — sorry. :old:
I’ll have some of that Hennessy’s. I hope there’s nice cut-glass snifters. :old:
Ha! I use harp blues music or any ol’ blues music in my library, but I use “dots” to play my baritone and tenor guitars.
Regular staff music seems really easy to learn in Chicago Tuning (DGBE...
Welcome to the UU and to ukuleles.
I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy shopping at Island Bazaar and finding some good stuff. I have, though I haven’t been there in a while.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy...
Uhhh . . . I just looked through EBay and Amazon and Elderly. I think the Pono might be a bit too expensive for me. One can buy a pretty good Classical Guitar for it’s price.
Also, I read...
Wow! I was gonna buy a Classical Guitar but changed my mind. The Guitalele would be even better it seems to me. I have a tenor guitar, but I’m not usta it’s large size yet. I don’t play the...
I couldn’t agree more. I really enjoy mine. :old:
I usta have a Gold Tone concert banjolele, but I traded in back to the store for a Tenor. However, the store also had a GT baritone ukulele! Boy, I wish I’da had my mind right then. I sure would...
Has anyone tried Sliding on their TGs? I am, and I’m really enjoyin’ it. I’m pretty comfortable with my glass slide on my finger now, and I’m doin’ pretty well on the slidin’. I’ve gotta work on G...
Yeah, Rollie, I agree. “Bluegrass” is the style that Bluegrass bands play. It’s like the stuff that Dixieland bands or Polka bands or even String Quartet groups play. Bluegrass bands play Country...
How do you define “Bluegrass”? Is it a definite kinda music, or is it the kinda music that Bluegrass Bands play? :old:
A really nice lookin’ ukulele, and a good soundin’ one too. You’re a very lucky person. :old:
You could type Low G Booming in the “Advanced Search”/ “Search Forum” area to see what you can find. :old”
I usta complain about the “booming” low G on ukes but mostly I was ignored. A few ukers said one could quiet the booming but didn’t say how. Low G always boomed on my ukes, so I just quit usin’ it....
Hi. I don’t understand your first sentence. I like DGBE fine. — no problemo.
I think I’ve solved the discomfort of my big (to me) Blueridge. I readjusted the strap I've been usin’. Now the...
Does anyone ever use a Foot Stand? I have a nice one that I’ve used before, but I keep crushing it when I push on it to rise. I’ve done it two three times and can’t seem to stop. It’s bent back...
Well, good luck with whatever you’re doin’. I finished my Irish banjo studies, and now I gotta work on my tremolos for Italian tunes.
Have fun. :old:
I’m sorry, but I just don’t understand what the heck you are talking about. Why are you retunin’ the drone up and down? Are you just experimenting or what? I play in gDGBD, gDGCD and gCGCD, so you...
I use CGBD to play Plectrum Banjo music on my Kala guitar and my Lanikai banjolele.. If one added the g it would be the old time (gCGBD) 5 string banjo tuning. :old:
Yeah, DUD1, you’re correct about those chords. They’re easy-peasy even for me. Thanks a lot. :old:
Hi, Keety. I have a Kala tenor eight string, and, even though I can play melodies on it on good days, I don’t care for the way they sound. Agreeing with the others above, I only use mine to play...
Ahhh, well . . :old:
