Another fountain pen person! I love them. I have a golden jubilee queen Elizabeth parker that I love
Saw someone else post this

Duke 10 (you'd have to use secondary market right now) or on the higher end a Deering. They weigh a lot (to me anyway). Maybe a Firefly
That's a shame. There are some other dirt cheap ukes that aren't wonderful, but are at least playable.
So how'd ya make it? Internal bracing etc.
Looks cool.
Holy cow!! It's stunning!
When I hit the lotto...
I think there's a uke porn thread. This goes there lol.
Thank you for a smile after two days of doing nothing but COVID stuff
I wonder how much of it is because places are cranking out more ukes now? During this pandemic a lot more people seem to be picking up the uke, so maybe that affects it. Maybe the more interestingly...
Unless I play much better, probably none, though I'm allowing for one. If I'm better, I'll think about it. I may build a couple of cookie tin or cigar box ukes for fun though. I just like building...
Second that
Like that kiwaya that was posted
The Japanese saw has much better control and just feels like an easier stroke.
They're fun to build. Twitch is great and has instructables....
What do you think? Actually does look like there's some kind of trim

I've seen photos like this before. I actually love the look, but I think that metal would sure dampen the soundboard. Personally, I'm going to do up a cheap uke to look like one of Dolly Parton's...
Thanks. I'll remember trying a different ribbon if I do another one of these. Next time I may just use a larger tunable drum.
Someone above had a fretboard extending over the head which I would...
Your inlay is beautiful. Did you cut away the ribbon at the point where it goes under the neck or leave it? Someone had mentioned it didn't muffle them as much.
You're right, they do sound like a...
I like the 10" better too. Bought a Duke 10 that I loved the sound on (and the lightness) but tenor is just too big for my hands. Ended up selling it. Sniff.
My jig is kind of eyeballing it as I cut it with a Japanese handsaw lol.

I may try one where the fretboard stretches out over the neck like yours. I sort of tried that,...
Absolutely gorgeous! I can't believe the work that went into it. You sir (or madam) are an artist!
That IS a nice design. It does look homemade. Did you make your own neck? I like the headstock. Would you put up the plans or PM me? The hard part for me is getting the neck angle right. That looks...
Me too. Didn't really notice it, but man trying to play an E chord (yes all I know it's a hard chord), I can line my 3 fingers up on 4th fret, but going to get 2nd fret, the only way I can finger it...
Too cute! Loved it.
Maybe a dirt cheap tenor. I've been playing concert because it fits much better, but now that I've been playing awhile I want to see if I can reach some on a tenor. I loved the Duke10 I got when I...
I don't know if it's a Canadian version of our Guitar Centers, but it's a large place that just wants to sell stuff. Yeah a luthier should be able to fix it, but I'd want a clean one to start. If you...
Yup. Bagpipes or banjos. Both of which I like. Celtic music uses both
