Thanks, Mike. That seems to be the consensus. I will go with it. Think I want to have the 4th string low rather than tuned high. Don't expect that that will make much tension difference though. I...

Thanks, Graham, for your attention to detail. I looked at the plan and saw that the convention is to show grain direction. So it looks like they want that bridge to be of an angled grain pattern.

Here is the portion of the plan that I am wanting to understand. Does it make sense to have the grain vertical in relationship to the soundboard, that is perpendicular? Or would you want strength in...

    Bridge grain direction?

    Newbie... again...

From the LMI plan that I have for this tenor ukulele it looks like the grain direction for the bridge blank is not completely vertical but more like on a 45-degree direction....

    Cutting binding channels

I got the thing boxed in!! :)

Now addressing binding and I have some questions as I research how to go about this.

I've no need to consider speed given that 'production' isn't a concept I've...

Thank you. That sure makes a lot of sense to me. I may try that.

On the subject of binding, is there a standard dimension that one should shoot for in terms of width and depth? I'm going to keep...

Thanks, that helps! I've simply not had enough experience to know that.
Didn't realize CA glue is a good choice for binding. The only binding I've done is the fretboard I just finished- straight...

Thanks for the tool tip. I will order one soon. I'd like to bundle that with something else to take advantage of shipping. Looks like I'll need a tool...

The idea being to avoid getting glue where it doesn't need to be? And you don't run a bead but just a couple of drops (toward the ends I presume)? You thus have no need for Acetone I'd guess.

Okay, I'm missing something (being a newb...) Super glue seems very quick so what is the purpose of an accelerator? I've never used it and have only heard/read that term recently.

  16. Gluing fretboard on onto neck and onto top, proper sequence?

Finally I have frets in fretboard ready to go. I have a neck that I believe is flat and want to marry the two. This is a bolt-on neck. The top is glued to the sides, the back has yet to be glued on....

Ken Franklin suggested I might consider gluing them in given that I had pulled the first batch out. That might have made the slots a little bit sloppier.

My second 4 feet of fretwire arrived and I have cleaned up this fretboard by sanding incrementally to 400 grit. John Hall of Blues Creek Guitars suggests using Titebond to help with fretting. He's...

A good trick! I think that the worst slot-end on this fretboard may have to mm of hardened Titebond. Many of them are much better than that.
