Brilliant, now I don't have to buy a Kamaka HF-2 :D
Nice little test, thanks for that.
I do wonder what kind of results you'd get with different notes/strings. I find that at least on my Kamaka the C string produces much more overtones making...
I don't mind the logo and I love slotted headstock. Can't remember if they've had those before on their ukes. I'll agree on the pegheds, they look awful on the slotted headstock and would suit a...
Yeah, I was about to post this as well. Andreas David from Gute Ukulele last week listed a Cornerstone ukulele made from "The Tree" mahogany. Here's the listing:...
This uke has been sold.
This week I did something a bit different in terms of my DIY journey. A few months ago, I bought a fairly cheap concert uke, a Kai KCI-5000 to be exact. I bought it from Thomann so it basically came...
Indeed. The actual issue may not be the accuracy of the tuner but rather how it displays the frequency. As mentioned, a strobe tuner (Peterson in my case) may not be that much better at recognizing...
This uke has been sold!
I'm not surprised at all by this. I've noticed the same just by using my Snark on ukes that produce more prominent overtones. Sometimes the reading can vary greatly with subsequent plucks of the same...
I like the look of those Graphtech ratio tuners because they have a nice matte finish that makes them look more vintage to me than tuners with metal posts. But obviously that's personal preference....
Buying a new one.
Just kidding. :D I semi-regularly simply wipe my ukes with a microfibre cloth after playing to keep them more or less clean. Usually satin finishes don't even require anything...
I'm in Finland. Shipping to the Netherlands shouldn't be a problem.
I love quirky ukes and this one is certainly one of those. Congrats!
***THIS UKE IS LOCATED IN EUROPE, forgot to put that in the title, apologies***
Here's something I bet you don't see everyday on the Marketplace. I feel like I'm going slightly mad by putting this...
I'm selling my aNueNue AMM2 all solid African mahogany concert ukulele. It's a wonderful uke but I very rarely play it so I've decided to pass it along. I originally bought it as a low g uke, hence...
I can attest to that. The job Juha has done for a few of my ukes that needed repairing and the one I commissioned from him is excellent. And he's a great person to work with as well. I love chatting...
Yup, that's why I commissioned the uke in this thread. I love the idea of a uke made out of local woods while being ecological as well.
I'll agree on the looks regarding alder. I've actually seen...
This has become the primary reason why I prefer friction and planetary geared tuners, aside from the aesthetics. Tuning is just so easy with them, not so with regular geared tuners. I have zero...
Nice, thanks for the heads-up. I like Snark overall and it's usually accurate enough for most needs but I do have a Peterson strobe clip-on tuner as well. It's been invaluable for testing intonation...
Posts consistently truncate if you use certain special characters like GBP or Euro signs. Even quotation marks can cause that sometimes. Double posts typically occur when you press the reply button...
I use the neck as the axis.
Double post, forum is getting a bit funky...
The stock tuners are either the Graphtech ratio tuners I have on mine or alternatively Waverly friction tuners (really nice quality btw). If you want Gotoh planetary tuners for example that'll...
I love the design, and it sounds exquisite judging by the video. All I can say is, if I had commissioned one of those it would be hard for me to gift it to someone. :D
Update time again. The rest of the nuts and saddles arrived just before new year so I finally had some time to fix the Kamaka yesterday. The new saddle was identical to the stock one. I only had to...
