Can‘t believe they went with the Graphtech tuners even on the higher end ukes. Aside from that, the concerts look pretty decent.

If I had to describe it briefly, I'd say it's the perfect practice ukulele. The strings are nicely balanced and you can strum it heavily without losing its great tone separation. Also, due to the...
Keep me posted! ;) All I told him was to use the wood I send him and make decisions about bindings etc. himself. I might contact him once again to be sure he uses decent tuners but I'm sure he knows...
As planned, I already sold one of the centennial Martins (which by the way ended up in re-investing in a Martin Baritone :D ). Anyway, I really hope to pick the Laulu soprano up in person; whenever...
Thanks for sharing, stunning uke, it looks and sounds gorgeous.
I am especially interested because I recently ordered a soprano by Juha myself. I always wanted one since Pete Howlett and Claus...
Fire away, maybe I can answer your questions. I have an alto that is quite like Cluze s.
Just bought a Martin Baritone off reverb. No more predictions on what‘s gonna be next.
Hey, thanks a lot for the science. :D That's very interesting! In the end, I guess, it pretty much depends on the personal preferences in playing style as well. I'd consider myself a pretty...
No. I tried not to change the angle and distance to the mic (Shure MV88) too much though.
Actually, I'd say, #1 is slightly louder.
So, here's the reveal: I went with #2. (on the right)

As mentioned, they're pretty close but #2 just seemed a bit more "clear sounding" to me, especially at its sweet spot around...
Haha, I did not check the pictures right away and was already wondering where Peter got the actual dog bone from. (And why he wouldn't use if for nut and saddle as well. :D )
Looking gorgeous for...
Marco Todeschini of Antica Ukuleleria builds in pearwood.
If you go to his website (https://www.anticaukuleleria.com/libero) or Facebook/Instagram you'll find some of his ukes with bodies out of...
Thanks for all your comments; that's very interesting. I added a poll to the thread and will reveal my choice and why a bit later. :-D Good to see that there seem to preferences for both instruments....
Both still have the Martin stock strings on.
It took me a while but here's the promised sound demo: https://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/showthread.php?147943-What-s-your-favorite-(sound-comparison)&p=2255482#post2255482
(I opened a new...
A few weeks ago I bought two Martin Centennial sopranos. Today I let one go. Before I put it in its case to leave for its final destination, I recorded a sound demo of both instruments.
I think,...
Sold! Thank you.
Edit: took the pictures off my server.
I am selling one of my Martin Centennials. Bought two months ago in Finland. Near mint condition; exactly how I received it in September. Only 100 of these have been made in 2017.
Here's the link...
It's been a year today since Claus' passing.
Here's a little text (with quite a few pictures of him and his workshop) to remember him: http://ukulelezeit.de/nachruf-claus-mohri-gestorben/
It's...
Gorgeous instrument! And very interesting what you write about the sustain. Same with my Libero soprano, and I'm loving it. Sustain isn't everything.
It does have a pretty distinctive voice and I...
I talked to a few friends from Madeira, one is a collector of old machetes and owns quite a few. He's also a friend of Shawn.
He doesn't know anything about the builder but supposes that it was...

Cool. Never heard of the shop before. Actually, I was about to visit Finland - then Covid happened. Next year, hopefully!
Yes, and since I took both, shipping was free.
