I rechecked, and there's a tiny bit of room around the waist, but not enough for the uke to move significantly. Quarter inch, maybe?

In other news, my cats knocked it into the floor today and the...

I like the little extra length because it gives me room to tuck a humidifier above the headstock. There's a tiny bit of room to either side of the bouts, but it's snug around the waist. The uke...

I may actually wind up flying with my uke this fall, but I will definitely take it as a carry on! It's "only" an Ohana SK-10, but I'd still be afraid to check it. :)

In case anyone is looking at any of these cases in the future, I wound up buying the MCH one and I'm quite happy with it so far.

If it falls apart in six months, I'll update this post. ;)

Anyone familiar with any of these cases?

I was considering a polyfoam, but now I'm thinking of an actual hard case. Is anyone familiar with any of these?

    question about humidifying

I've read that you can't effectively humidify a uke in a plain gig bag and need to keep it in a hard case to get the full benefit...is a polyfoam "hard" case sufficient for that? Or does it need to...
  9. Advice re: Gearlux vs. Knox Gear foam cases?

I'm looking for an inexpensive hardshell or polyfoam case for my Ohana soprano (SK-10), and found these on Amazon:

    Gearlux
    Knox Gear

The price point is great considering the price of the uke...

I'm aware of two ukulele groups in St. Louis, but I have no idea what either is like...I've thought of showing up at a meeting, but I'd kind of like to have an idea of what to expect before I decide...
