Those seem to be thick picks. I am a relative beginner using a pick and On regular guitar i use .73 soft for strumming and 0.7 to 0.8 medium for single string picking

or if you prefer scientific journals to the Daily Mail...
As opposed to a cabinet maker from Madeira?
Wow, that just dropped right into my price range. And I dont like too much bling so the no frills is great
Mary Spender on youtube plays electric guitar without a pick, you could analyse her playing but i think she finger picks more than strums. Hope i am not saying something dumb as a beginner myself but...
Been thinking about this myself, having sanded and shaped a new saddle i was wondering if i could take the nut off my guitar (43mm but would fit a 45mm) and put a bass nut on. Realised that the slots...
Everything i play sounds the same, i practice different rhythms but once i start singing my brain automatically strums D-D-UUDU. Accompanied by deep, mournful very slightly flat singing.
Hi
were the strings "stretched" into GCEA tuning before testing lower tunings? This may affect the result and might be better to start lower and work up.
I have just switched back from GCEA to...
Man in denial, right there.
Just kidding, great instrument. Been curious about this company myself.
Yes, it’s the fender cn60s. I am looking mostly at 3/4 and 7/8 models because I am intimidated by 50 and 52 mm nut. Widths.
There are some really nice 46 and 48 mm models that are not in my price...
Hey everyone
Are nylons strings thinner on a guitar? One of my problems with my current steel string is the 43 mm width nut and accidentally catching an adjacent string with my fretting hand. I...
The big pono steel string baritone (UL4) ... sigh... Failing that any pono baritone as my longterm goal is to buy one.
To try without any intention of buying i would love to try a Moonbird tenor...
Nice, did the sheet music tell you which beats to strum on? I am interested because you aren't strumming continuously, which is what i would naturally do, but as a duet the way you have played is...
Thanks everyone, the 10s are great, sound a little brassy but much better, and the instrument is much easier to play. Got no one to blame for bad tone now except myself. I will try the 80/20s when...
So you wouldnt expect much difference between a 00 and a 000 in terms of tone?
How much are these "specialty" guitars. I have found a 00 i really like, the Alvarez Delta00, which seems versatile enough to play a wide range of music and not just blues. But i keep worrying that i...
Thanks everybody, when i first got the guitar i tried to get some 10s but at the local shop they told me not to because i would get buzzing. It did not make sense to me at the time because the action...
Hi all
Slightly embarassed to ask this as it is a frequent question on most guitar forums. My first guitar is a vintage (late 60s or early 70s) made in Japan laminate parlor. I am pretty sure it...
Yes, absolutely. Another thing i have realised is that there are guitars that sound slightly better but you can only hear the difference if you play them side by side. Once you are at home no...
Beautiful. Sound sample to make me super-jealous?
Went into our local equivalent of Guitar Centre, asking to look at the Guild Jumbo Junior and Guild OM. I think the guy was trying to upsell me, he put a solid wood OM in my hands which was twice as...
Those Harley Bentons look like great guitars but they seem to be laminate tops, is that right? For that price and a quality build i might not turn my nose up at laminate
EDIT - got the model...
Hey all,
Not sure whether to start a new thread as this one has got long and i am asking about "small" guitars but the next size up. I am currently playing a cheap laminate parlor and wish to...
I hate re-stringing - all fiddly work actually - but I love playing uke in the car (and fleeing ladies events) so i get where you are coming from
