Sign up for future Seasons IV

Hi Edwin - can I take the week commencing Sunday 11th August please? I would work out the Season number, but isn’t that what we pay you the big bucks to do? 😉 Cheers matey 🙂 PS - I think it’s Season 651?

    Season 643 of the Ukulele - S S S

Happy birthday, Joo! You share your birthday with my youngest brother, Alan, who is 54 today. 🙂 When you commented on my Tori Amos cover earlier in the week you said you wanted more Tori Amos - so this is your birthday gift from me, and it’s just what you asked for! It’s another song from her...

Season of the 'Ukulele (SOTU) 642 - Much Love for the PNDub

Thanks, Chris - YT can be a strange beast - comments occasionally go astray quite randomly, so probably wasn’t down to anything you did at all. And thanks for your kind words about my song - much appreciated, matey! And is 5 afraid of 7 because it ate (eight) nine and ten? 😆

Season of the 'Ukulele (SOTU) 642 - Much Love for the PNDub

Hi Chris - I can't see a comment for this one, but sometimes they haven't been showing up on my channel lately. Cheers matey :-)

    Season 643 of the Ukulele - S S S

Thank you for hosting, Joo! :) A few weeks ago, after at least a couple of decades, I rediscovered Tori Amos’s debut solo album ‘Little Earthquakes’. Listening to it again all this time later, I find that my intervening life experience helps me to relate so much more to the lyrical content of...

Seasonistas on-line get together / open mic

Hi all - sadly I won’t be joining you later - it’s my brother John’s stag night tonight. Anyone who knows me at all will appreciate just how far out of my comfort zone I’ll be, but sometimes family loyalties have to take precedence, especially as I won’t be attending the wedding next week (which...

Season of the 'Ukulele (SOTU) 642 - Much Love for the PNDub

Here’s a rainy original that I wrote for a Season a good while back. This is a new performance of it - just me, baritone uke and some vocal harmonies.

Seasonistas general thread: yakking, joshing, news and pictures

    Oh my word - that's toe-tally toe-rrific! 😆

Season of the 'Ukulele (SOTU) 642 - Much Love for the PNDub

Thanks for hosting, Chris! 🙂 Here’s a rainy one. I’m shocked to realise it’s the first Travis song I’ve ever covered. Baritone uke with some added synth bass and strings, and a homemade rhythm track. Hope you like.

Season of the 'Ukulele (SOTU) 642 - Much Love for the PNDub

That’s a lovely gesture, Chris! And can I echo everything you’ve said about Brian Fergus @UkeFoote here - he’s a great guy and one of my all-time ukulele heroes to boot. 👍🏼

Week 641 - Going to Katmandalamazoo, Titicacamonga, and Wooloo Wooloo!

No playlist, no YouTube comments - hope you’re okay, Joko?!

Week 641 - Going to Katmandalamazoo, Titicacamonga, and Wooloo Wooloo!

Thanks for hosting Joko. 🙂 I’m not sure I’ve ever ventured so far outside my comfort zone as I have with this one - it was a Tin Pan Alley hit from back in the 1920s, though it’s been extensively covered since then. Nagasaki (the song title) and Fujiyama also mentioned here.

SOTU 640: BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN

I’ve already mentioned how I’d love to play bass like Borfus. I’d also like to bounce around on two hind feet. Does that make me a Double Wallaby Wannabee? 🤔😖😆 I’ll stop that now! 😬

SOTU 640: BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN

@UkeFoote I can only agree with everything Wendy @UkeCan1 has said here, Brian. Great show - I hope your neighbours know how lucky they are to have you! And the sound came through so well on Zoom. Big thanks to you and Borfus - and also to everyone watching on Zoom for being such great company! 🙂

Week 641 - Going to Katmandalamazoo, Titicacamonga, and Wooloo Wooloo!

For anyone in two minds about whether to watch, these gigs are brilliant! I’ll be setting my alarm for 3am here in England (2 hours from now) to attend on Zoom. :)

SOTU 640: BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN

Thanks for hosting, Val! 🙂 The White Horses was a 1965 Yugoslavian children’s TV series that was (badly) dubbed into English and shown here in the UK on Saturday mornings and during school holidays from 1968 until 1978. The series was repeated many times over, but the only thing I remember...

Could somebody ask Rick to let me in the zoom meeting please? Been waiting for a good while.

Season 639 - You Tell ME What the Theme Is

My 3rd and final video for the week. My theme is colours and there are plenty to choose from in the lyrics for this one. Unusually, this song enjoyed most chart success as an orchestral instrumental, though lots of artists have covered it with the lyrics, including Andy Williams. My version has...

Season 639 - You Tell ME What the Theme Is

And here’s my blast from the past - I wrote this one about a year ago for Chris’s (@hands_on_lanzon) Dads and Grads season 592. My theme this week is colours, and the colour mentioned here is gold. Here’s what I wrote about it when I first posted it: ‘The House Made Of Straw’

Season 639 - You Tell ME What the Theme Is

Such a great theme idea - well done, Brian, and thanks for hosting! 🙂 White is a colour, so colours are my theme, and the colour white appears several times in my first song choice. It’s from Tori Amos’s debut album Little Earthquakes - I remember first seeing her performing on a TV chat show...
