    Stringing slotted headstocks

Apologies if this has already been posted and discussed previously. Having just bought a slotted headstock Pono I did find it a bit more difficult to restring. After searching YouTube this is now my preferred method. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nrCvmcY9oA But I would be very interested...

The Kamaka Jake Shimabukuro Tenor (Jake Blue) Has Arrived - Thoughts and Comparisons

Wow, both droolingly beautiful ukuleles. Just wondered if the Kamaka with that "V" at the back of the neck that goes past the nut hits your hand at all, compared to the clearance shown on the Kanile'a? When playing Fm for instance.

What is the best way to acclimatise a new ukulele with humidity difference?

Just received my ukulele back from the luthier after some mods. I have just checked the humidity in the case and it's 70% whereas my home is around 40% I've left it in the case, but would I like to know of the best way to acclimatise it to 40% without anything splitting.

    Feeding fretboards

Does anyone ever use lemon oil, or something similar, to clean and feed the fretboard when changing strings? And would you do this for all types of wood, or just rosewood?

    Bound fretboard question

On a bound fretboard, should the frets stop before the binding, or carry on past the binding as if the binding wasn't actually there? I thought the purpose of a bound fretboard was to not feel the frets, but do some bound fretboards actually have the frets go right to the edge? Are both of...

Build Thread: Custom Tenor Ukulele by Marshall Stapleton

Almost there.... Had a bit of trouble with the L R Baggs pickup. A small piece of the battery holder was broken, unfortunately Gear4Music were totally unhelpful as they said it was over 6 months from the order. Very strange as their website states "In addition to our money back guarantee...

GCEA on a baritone, string theory

So, Just thinking about strings and GCEA on a baritone. And no, I haven't got a baritone, just thinking about stuff, as you do. I don't know much about string theory but I believe that frequency is a result of length, diameter, density, and tension. Given that, would it not be possible to...

I have had this for 3 or so years, and it has the usual small dings that go with being played a lot. The sound and...

And here's the design of the rosette. I do not like a lot of bling on my ukuleles, and I think this looks pretty classy, ebony with maple veneer.
