    Ukulele and arthritis

I, like many people (according to my orthopedist) have arthritis at the base of the thumbs. Ukulele is much more forgiving on the left hand thumb for fingering. I find I can find a comfortable position and still play well. I could t do that on guitar. I find tenor to be about right these days...

Going down the Japanese Uke rabbit hole

I like the more traditional bridge. While I have loved the Famous ukes I have owned I never really liked the bridge they use on the sopranos.

Going down the Japanese Uke rabbit hole

I had the long neck version of the Famous FS-5G. I would agree that it had a sweet sound rather than punchy, but one of the easiest playing instruments I have owned. And it was a beauty to look at with the Koa and gloss finish.

New Uke Day (NUD) NUD: Noah Baritone Ukulele

EVERYBODY SHOULD OWN A BARITONE UKULELE and here is mine- a Noah baritone with satin sunburst spruce top and mahogany back and sides. This is all solid wood and made in a small luthier shop. I really like the overall feel and sound. It is not a deep boomy baritone and that is what I like best...

Buying Tips? Thinking about getting a baritone

Have a look at Noah Ukuleles. I still have to do anNUF listing for Baritone I bought from Matt. Really good quality, solid wood and under 300. Phil Doleman has a series of videos on the Noah Baritone. Great stuff.

New Uke Day (NUD) NUD: Antica Ukuleleria GALILEO in Chestnut

The other day my Galileo arrived from Marco at Antica Ukuleleria. This is the actual instrument that was reviewed by Bazmaz on gotaukulele ( Galileo review). His review is spot on and so I won’t repeat a lot of what he says. I will say it looks even better in hand than in the pics. I really...

Review Anuenue PAPA Soprano Ukulele (and comparison)

Jan you could make a stick of wood with a rubber band sound good! Seriously, nice sound. Would prefer to hear it in comparison video with other sopranos like you do. Thanks for doing these videos.

New Uke Day (NUD) NUD: Kmise Double-Neck

Congrats! Kmise does produce some really good sounding and value instruments. And yours with pickup as well! I have a Banjolele that I really like. Gets the job done nicely when I want that sound and was like $100 couple years ago.

    Instant Pot!

I am also a believer! I generally make stews but have also made and enjoyed risotto and even pasta with meat sauce, and pulled chicken and pulled pork. Here is a Veal stew recipe I like.

What is your dream uke, what’s the “best” one you’ve played, and what uke has surprised you?

And where would be that dream location or event where you would play that dream ukulele? 😁

    First Car

Haha yeah. Not sure why but in the 1980’s Italian govt aid to west Africa included sending many Pandas which ended up as public sculptures by stacking etc called Panda art bcz the cars lasted only months before completely breaking down

    First Car

My first car was a late 60’s Fiat 124 sport that I bought used. So much fun and quick except that I couldn’t use it when it rained - thanks to brilliant Fiat engineering, the mounted the distributor cap right under the open grill of the hood so rain would just pour in on the cap dulling the...
