Ok, I'll start this thread about how some folks screw up otherwise nice ukes. I saw this very nice looking Martin C1K uke on GC, on which someone installed a garish pickguard. Dunno if the guard is removeable without damage, but I hope so! Got other examples?

I've never encountered either in the wild, but have heard about them. I saw this video posted in the NAMM thread, labeled as a sinker mahogany uke. But in the video, Kalei refers to the wood as torrified, which is a different animal altogether, right?

Check out the tuners on this old Martin soprano. The buttons look like 40s/50s Keystones, but what the heck is going on with the tuner posts and additional hardware up there? Yikes...
