    This is me playing "Billy Boy" which is an old American folksong. I'm using a sort of frailing technique. The ukulele is not a Kala, but a Chinese knockoff brand called Kaka. I wonder who thought Kaka was a good idea for a substitute name for Kala!

    Rope purfling

    It seems to me like rope-style purfling or borders was a big part of the distinctive style in many of the early Hawaiian ukuleles. I wish more makers would build models in this style. I know some do. It is reminiscent of the roots of the instrument in a sailing society.

    Hello from Sunny and Humid Oklahoma

    Glad to be here. Got my first ukulele twenty some years ago, when I was a child, but I never got beyond trying to tune the thing. Several years and instruments later, I have taken it up again.
