I now have the four K's and a Martin and all are Koa. I really want an excellent Mahogany before venturing into "other" woods. Although I can pick up a Martin 2T for a reasonable price and will probably do so, what others would you recommend?
Have you considered a Pono?
I've encoutnered some really excellent sounding Collings UT1 and UT2 mahogany tenors - maybe one of those?
No. But now I realize your budget exceeds mine. Didn't notice that at first.Would you recommend this over a custom Ko'olau?
My concern is that they sound too "guitarish".
Cedar topped mahogany
Hi Pete, since you have full steamed ahead with a fine collection of uku's, I think a 'Kiwaya' KT is a must.
I think they are fabulous, highly recommended.
