Yes, I find it best to come back another day - very frustrating at the time though.

On another note; I just snagged myself A Baton Rouge Concert Hotrod Electro for 99, saving 50!

(It was offered by Uke Magazine, which I subscribe to.)

I don't really need it - but how could I not buy it!

I've promised myself no more uke for another two years to put a stop to UAS. If I still play at that time, then I'll splurge for a really nice one as a gift for myself, probably a custom. Until then I have plenty (I have two nice ones), and I think my wife will be happier if I keep it at the 5 I have for now :P.
Doesnt stop me from window shopping though!

That's what I find. Sometimes when I've been struggling with a tricky bit and not quite getting it, I will put it aside for a day or so and when I come back to it, it has magically come together. I think sometimes, your brain needs to work on it without conscious input from yourself.

You've just reminded me, I need to renew my subscription to Uke Magazine.

As to UAS, it's on the back burner at the moment. I keep looking at ukes and then stopping and thinking. Do I need it? will I play it? Have I something that serves the same purpose? If the answer to the second and third question is "no" then I don't buy it. Most of my existing ukes are played regularly or have a definite role.

I shall regard it as an upgrade to the Makala MK-C that I have.

(One of the first ukes that I got.)

in addition to geoff's wise words about uke functionality, i would add, does the uke have a cool picture or design on it? is it a really lovely colour? is it perhaps mad as a box of frogs? if the answer is yes to any of these then BUY BUY BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AYE - that's just it right now for me - one that I've been wanting for a LONG time is now for sale, used but in mint condition, at like 60% off the price of new...

    Chomping at the bit here...

But unless I get rid of one, and move this new one into that role of the old one, it's going be a sort of duplicate and just an indulgence that I cant really justify financially right now...

Not that any previous uke purchase has ever been controlled by reason in the past, well at least reason that a non-uke player would understand or accept....

UAS has come out of the shadows and haunts me at the moment....

My local uke group, the North East Wisconsin Ukulele Club (N.E.W, Ukes) is playing at a big community art fair this Sunday, our fourth year in a row! There should be about 25 of us. We're playing for three hours, 10am - 1pm. Here's our set list! You'll see that I've done several of these songs here at the Seasons! Thanks to all Seasonistas for helping me become more confident and helping expand my horizons. If any of y'all want to trek to Wisconsin, you're very very welcome to join in!
