Hello!

I would like to start learning fingerpicking solo songs for the ukelele, as my voice is pretty bad, haha

Any ideas of where to start looking?

Thanks in advance!

Ministrel pdf is a great website for fingerpicking/notation sheet music with the tabs to go along with them. A lot of them are also split into the grade levels with 1 being the easiest going up to 8 the hardest. There are also beginner ones. I've found them very helpful. Just scroll down the list on the right to pick the type you want and then onto the one you fancy playing, it brings up the music which can then be printed etc.

Here's the page I love, it has the list for notation plus tabs for each piece:

As a newbie interested in learning fingerpicking, I just checked out that site. Wow! Looks like I'm going to be downloading a few dozen PDF files this afternoon! Thanks for the link.

I highly recommend The Ukulele Way by James Hill.
It is a great method and will get you on the road to playing chord melodies.

I agree pdf minstrel has some great stuff on there, also check out ukeofcarl from UK, he has some lovely arrangements on his site and they are quite easy for the budding fingerpicker

Takes time and practice to develop finger strength, muscle memory, rhythm strumming. Keep at it
And dont give up.. i always say, practice, persistence, perseverance and passion will eventually get you there
Happy Strummings. ..
Just remember everyone is different, their hand and finger size, strength, dexterity, and ukulele necks are wider or narrower
And slim or thicker.. choose wisely. if your action and string height is high, it will be harder to fret ..get a set up
Last is string tension..the higher tension strings gives you better clarity but is harder on your fingers, low tension strings is warmer .. good luck man :)
And improves comfort and playability. .
