Default Which set of Worth Brown Low G for my Uke?

    Hi all,

I have an Islander AT-4, Acacia Tenor that I would like to try Worth Brown Low G strings on. I'm going to purchase from HMS, but I'm not completely sure which ones are correct for my Uke.

    http://www.theukulelesite.com/accessories/strings/worth-strings/worth-strings-ch-lg-cf-lg-ch-lghd.html

    1. The page says I need to make sure my Uke can handle High Tension strings, I believe this Uke is fine, but can't find a definitive answer anywhere. Anyone other owners out there that know the answer? (Uke came with Aquila Low G strings)

    2. There are 2 options for the Brown strings in Low G:
    • BS (Brown Strong)
    • BH (Brown Heavy)

Anyone have any information on the difference between the two? I'm a pretty new player and this will be the first time I've replaced the strings since purchasing this Uke.

Any and all input greatly appreciated.

Here's the Worth spec sheet. http://worthc.to/english/w_strings.html

Unless you know you want a higher tension, you may want to try starting with BT-LG which is not offered by HMS. Of BS and BF, I would start with the BS. The difference is only the 4th string but I would only go to the F if you were dissatisfied with the other.
    Ukulele:
Iriguchi Tenor "Weeble" - A, WoU Clarity
Blue Star 19" baritone Konablaster - DGBE
    Cocobolo 16" SC#1-gCEA, SC SLMU
Ono #42 19" baritone, Ab, LW
    Imua iET-Bb, M600
Covered Bridge CLN pineapple - Eb cuatro, SC XLL
    Rogue bari
Bonanza super tenor, cFAD SC LHU
    Kala KSLNG, Eb SC XLU
    Flea soprano, C LW
    Hanson 5-string tenor, dGCEA
    Bonanza SLN GCEA
    Guitars:
    Jupiter #47, G, TI CF127

    Jim,

Thanks for the recommendation. I honestly have no idea on string tension. As I'm a lefty, and don't know any others who are, the only Uke I've ever played is my own.

I'll give the strings you recommend a try. My goal was simply to see if I could warm up the sound of the Uke a little bit and to try a non-wound Low G.
