Have any of you heard of a Hawaiian instrument called Ili'ili? I know Stan has heard of them but anybody else? I want to find some but I don't know where to look. :) it's a percussion instrument used in Hawaiian chanting.

they are 2 pair of stones used as castanets :)

I cheated, I Googled it :)

keep uke'in',

River rocks that are flat and you can hold comfortably in your palm will work just fine.

They're flat smooth river rocks, about the size of your palm.

Not sure of what type of stones but here's an excerpt from an article ...
What kind of stones are used as ‘iliili?
Most seem to be the dense smooth stones that come from volcanic rock and have been worn perfectly smooth by water. They are often dark in color and are the same type of stones (basalt) used in hot stone massage therapy. A set of 4 rocks is required to play ‘ili’ile.

You can get them from the following link: http://www.hulasupplycenter.com/product_info.php?products_id=53
