I was just wondering if anyone has a list of popular songs (including Christmas) which use the famous 50's progression (I-vi-IV-V). (There is a short list at this site).

Last year, Ukulele JJ, also posted a list of songs here:
http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?p=61308

I put the two lists together and added a few of my own:

Tears On My Pillow
Mysterious Girl
Stand By Me
Beautiful Girls
The Living Daylights
Those Magic Changes
Beauty School Dropout
Enola Gay
Every Breath You Take
Perfidia
Blue Moon
For Sentimental Reasons
Diana
Poor Little Fool (Ricky Nelson song)
String Along (Ricky Nelson song)
Last Kiss
Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now
Heart and Soul
I've Got Rhythm
Why Do Fools Fall in Love
Little Darlin'
Duke of Earl
Sleigh Ride
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Auld Lang Syne
Yankee Doodle (sort of)
All I Have To Do Is Dream

Runaround Sue
Ernie (fastest milkman)
YMCA
Teenager in Love

Surf
Sweat (UB40)
Moloka'i Slide
-pretty much anything by Baba B.

At Last
Oh Donna
In The Still of the Night
The Book of Love (The Monotones)
Surfer Girl
Earth Angel
Remember Then

That's all I can think of for now, but man, there must be tons more ...

I think all the ones in that tune were I-IV-vi-V... close, but not 50's

I thought I was posting a new thread....
