For sale a Vintage 1950/1960 Martin Tenor 14 Fret Ukulele, also known as the OG IZ Tenor.

This one is in great condition for being made in 1950. No signs of repair. No signs of any cracks. The bottom does show some telegraphing (braces showing) which is common on vintage Martin Ukulele's.

Also comes with the original case and TAGS!!!

I kept this more as a piece of art than an instrument, so it might need a setup. I did play it today and yes it has that vintage sound you can no replicate.

This one is hard to let go, since it is a piece of history that actually sounds amazing, but I'm selling the ones I'm not playing.20160918_094158.jpg20160918_094204.jpg20160918_094208.jpg20160918_094222.jpg20160918_094259.jpg

As the tags show, you could have got this for $10 back in the days, but I'm asking for 1,400, which is the price I purchased +50 shipping for a total $1,450 shipped CONUS.

Thanks!

What do you mean telegraphing? I looked and couldn't see what you were referring to.

if you touch the Uke you can feel the braces. You can't really see it in the photo.

I dont really know what it is, might have been lint. Here is another photograph.

Nice uke. I am under the impression, however, that Martin did not start making 14 fret ukes until the early 60's...?
