    Default Electric pineapple!

I recently discovered the Blue Star Konablaster Electric Pineapple ukulele on Elderly'S website. Anyone here familiar with these? I already have a amp and this Konablaster can add a new dimension (dementia?) to my pineapple/UAS addiction. Anyone here familiar with these Konablasters?

It's pretty, but the steel strings make me cringe. My fingers hurt just thinking about it...

Yeah, I haven't heard much positive praise of these things. Apparently they're poorly made and don't play well. If you've got a spare $300 you could do the world vastly better than one of these

Looks cool. Why do they put carpet on the sides and back?

Ha! Good question, I didn't notice that till you mentioned it. And all the answers I can think of suggest it ain't a great uke.

It's cheaper - and less risky - to install a pick-up on a uke you already own.

Well yes, but you see, I don't think Ahnko has a pineapple to spare...
