Just went back to Ikea to get a part missing from the desk I got for my son. Looking at the huge range of spare bibs and bobs and tricky little doodads they use I asked what they charge and the nice lady behind the desk said just take what you like and make a donation into the Unicef box.
Probably at least a dozen types lengths and diameters of barrel nuts alone.:D

Good find. They're in a spare room or area off to the side of the cashiers in my local IKEA. Possibly a collection of extras and parts that had fallen out of the packages. I'll have to look for barrel connectors next time I'm there.

The area was too well stocked for that. It is a spares area so that people who open their box to find they are short a twist cam nut part code 103114 or joint reinforcing plate to connect two together not according to the design can go look at the part number in their assembly manual, go to the neatly organised drawers with the parts in neat little organised plastc buckets full of spare parts in stock code number order and get what they need. The array of different specialised nuts, bolts screws plates cams connectors and hinges of many sizes perfect fo make all sorts of jigs and connect necks in dozens of ways was massive.

Saying they had the 10 mm barrel connectors with matching 6mm standard furniture joining bolts that people tend to use here for bolt on necks was only the start of the collection.
