I just received mine! I quite agree with what you say.. I am impressed! the build quality is amazing! The sound is very very good.. it has the jangle and plenty of it!I do like mine. It projects well, is balanced and expressive. Mahogany tends to be forgiving and has a rich tone. Fit and finish are excellent.
I do own an amazing vintage martin, the sound on this is "fresher" and the vintage sound is a bit unique but this is just as amazing. Considering that a mint quality series 3 from 1920s and 1930s will cost a lot more than what I paid, I think it is a good buy.
Minor OCD note, most of my ukes have side fret markers that are not perfect (not exactly aligned in a line, finish a bit different), this is better than most I own!
