Plastic tuner collars on Makala--buzz source?

I believe these are used to hide the fact that the holes in the headstock for the tuners have rough edges and often small bits of wood that come away from the drilling.

Cosmetic cover. Much like a base plate over a light fixture. Covering ugly. :p

yes, i'd go with the drop of glue.
 
Yeah, those little plastic washers are pretty annoying...

You could do what I did; remove the tuners (including the washer) and replace them with Grover friction pegs! :)

(Full disclosure, you will need to widen the hole a bit for this to work, so you will need to either use a reamer or drill it out.)
