Default NUD: J. Rieck Torrefied Spruce/Sapele 16" Concert

Yesterday I received the J. Rieck 16" Concert I commissioned from Josh. I'm pretty spoiled with the ukes that I have and even still this one has me going "Oh, Wow!" out of the gate. I'll do a full review with sound sample after I spend more time with this new beauty.

Check out the figuring in that sapele! I don't know if it's already taken or not, but I believe Josh has one more set of this gorgeous wood.

    Key specs:

    • Torrefied Sitka Spruce Top
    • Sapele Body with Side Soundport
    • 16" Scale Length
    • Philippine Mahogany Neck
    • Ebony Fretboard and String-thru Bridge
    • Gotoh Tuners
    • Florentine Cutaway

More an appreciator of the ukulele than a true player. My motto is: "Don't matter how good it ring if it ain't got some bling."

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.—Voltaire

Thanks for the pictures and update. Another gorgeous uke from Josh Rieck ! Great composition of woods and features.
That is probably the prettiest Sapele wood I have seen. Congrats!

Would love to hear how this one sounds with the Torrefied wood.
