Just seeing if this is a possibility... I have a Kamaka Gold Label Pineapple, built sometime between the mid-50's and late 60's. I bought it used, had the bridge reglued by a professional luthier here in the LA area.
I love this ukulele - but, after playing some Martin S1's, I think I would use one of those more. I just like the sound better, for my taste.
Although it's cool to have a vintage Kamaka, it's honestly the ukulele in my stable that gets played the least. If someone has a new-ish Martin S1 and would like to talk about a trade for my Kamaka, get in touch with me.
I've tried several brands of strings on it, and currently it has Kamaka strings. It sounds great.
Here are a few photos I happened to have of the Kamaka - one is just the head, and you can see a few scratches. The other is the ukulele in the case - it's a new Kamaka pineapple case, and that would be included in the trade. if you're interested, I can take more photos and post them.
Thanks, and Happy Easter!
