    Default Koa/mango uke

Pretty wild looking uke, anyone ever played one?

Yup. I have a soprano that's a model year or two newer. It is my main instrument and I love it.

They use two types of wood supposedly to enhance the resonance of the strings. I can't say whether or not that works, but I can say that the instrument sounds great up and down the scale. Highs are sweet and have a little sparkle. Lows are resonant without an obnoxious boom.

If you have a chance to try it out, I highly recommend it.

Yes, I played one, a friend owns it. It played like a dream and sang like a bird. derbyhat described the tone pretty well.

I saw those online last year and thought the same thing, wild looking.

The local stores never carried them where I live, and I really wanted to get my hands on one.
