I use the strap button on the butt and the other end is tied to the headstock above the 1st and 4th tuning pegs. I find that tying it above the nut makes chording in first position awkward. My reso uke had a strap button on the heel when I got it, so I left it there. I put the strap over my right shoulder rather than sticking my head through the strap, although I do put my head through the guitar and banjo straps.
I attached the "attached Thumbnails" photo by accident and can't seem to figure out how to get rid of it. I would not recommend this type of strap for your uke.
