Yesterday was my 57th birthday. For elmann's sake, I won't make any Heinz 57 jokes. I took a vacation day from work today, went to see Star Wars with my daughter, and we all went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Now back to our regularly scheduled ukulele videos!

    An original.

I'd rather stay right here with you
    Just wastin' this Sunday afternoon
But dispatch called, they say they got me another load
Gotta pick it up in San Antone
By night-time I'll be long gone
So kiss me one more time before I go

Let me go and tell the kids goodbye
I'll try not to let them see me cry
This job ain't worth the trouble or the heartache or the pay
I'm tired of driving these lonely roads
Just goin' wherever they tell me to go
I'd quit in a minute if I could find another way

But the only way I can keep earnin'
Is to keep those 18 wheels a-burnin'
You can't make no money if those wheels don't roll
If I could find a job with a little more pay
You'd never again have to hear me say
Kiss me one more time before I go

I gotta make El Paso before I sleep
Gotta wake up early, got a schedule to keep
And pick up a relay over in Fontana, L.A.
But the stars in L.A. don't shine so bright
As the stars in the heart of Texas at night
And the stars in Texas don't shine so bright as your eyes, anyway

But the only way I can keep earnin'
Is to keep those 18 wheels a-burnin'
You can't make no money if those wheels don't roll
If I could find a job with a little more pay
You'd never again have to hear me say
Kiss me one more time before I go

I'd rather stay right here with you
    Just wastin' this Sunday afternoon
But dispatch called, they say they got me another load
So kiss me one more time before I go
Never mind the words, just hum along and keep on going...

Last week on danish X-factor I saw someone do a slow cover of this song, that didn't resemble the Elvis version I knew at all. It was awesome, so I wanted to try!
I think it is a bit closer to Elvis that to that I saw last week, but I still managed to slow it down a bit...

It has kisses in the chorus, I hope it will do.

Ohana SK30M mahogany super-soprano, Cort UKEBWCOP Blackwood concert, Fluke Koa Tenor, Hora M1176 spruce Tenor
