    Default A California Bear Inlay

My inlay skills are modest at best, but I have this feeling that the more you do the better you get and I'm getting better. Below some pictures of a MOP in the shape of the California bear flag with star. The inlay is far from perfect but if you don't look too close (and nobody but a luthier would), it will pass. The wood is 40 year old wild cut East Indian Rosewood.

Yes, again note the difference in the rosewoods between the old growth rosewood peghead veneer and the plantation grown fretboard in the last picture. Ick! But the fretboard will get oil and turn so dark that nobody will notice.
