    Default My First Ukulele

    My first Ukulele. Told my grandson I would make him a ukulele now have to make three for all the grandkids. This first on is for a granddaughter who has her 5th birthday in 4 days
    It has a spruce top, eastern red cedar back, curly maple sides, walnut and maple neck with a padauk fretboard and saddle.

    Very nice. But what is up with the long string ends? That uke needs a shave.

    I still need to adjust the action some and still some stretch in the strings. I'll trim things in a few days. I traded a set of mountain dulcimer plans for the ukulele plans with a friend. I believe the plans originally came from Georgia Luthier Supply.

    Looks great! I made a soprano for my granddaughter last year from a StewMac kit. I only have one grandchild, so no pressure to finish another quickly. Have a concert in the works for me.
