I've got one, such a good laugh to play. Lovely sound to them as well.

The fret board looks like a major scale not just 1/2 steps. Is that right?

It's all major notes - no wrong notes they claim! I think it's missing one note that's needed, so some people install a 6.5 fret (which confuses me on the math/notes they're talking about). They have a cool sound/ look and are fairly cheap in price (but good quality)

These are diatonic scale (used often for instruments like the Appalachian Dulcimer), and typically tuned to the key of G or D.

The McNally StrumStick is another version of this kind of instrument.

Seagull came out with that Merlin series about 5-6 yrs ago IIRC.
