Koaloha headstock

A lot of the companies have their necks produced by an external source. Either a rough mahogany/Sapele neck blank is supplied to the maker to be have the final shaping, sanding, filling and finish done by the maker, or, the neck is supplied formed on a CNC machine and finished and supplied to the maker ready to attach to the body.

My 2017 KTM-00 has a two-piece neck, the upper half is one-piece of lighter orange-ish mahogany from the 15th fret @ shoulder of the uke to the tip of the headstock. While the bottom half is a darker color, stained(?) to be a very close match to the Koa in the body. With, I believe, a Koa Heel Cap.

The listing copy from Uke Republic says it is a: "CNC shaped genuine mahogany neck."
