::Leader Board:: Ahnko Honu Takes The Lead Chapter 23!

I have seen a couple of specials/documentaries about the CanAm Porsche 917/30, a slightly different, open-top version of the closed-cockpit car that raced (and won) Le Mans, famously driven by Steve McQueen in the move of the same name .
I had a model of one when I was 5 or 6 years old.
1200+ horsepower boxer 12.
Insane.
They say Mark Donohue was just about the only person truly fearless enough to push that car.
It still holds the track record at some circuits today.

just got home from the beach. Took a refreshingly cool shower.
It is 95 degrees in the bathroom.
It's fricken HOT here.
Ocean was nice.
Now just trying to stay cool, but it is hotter inside than my window A/C can cope with.

Might have to go to the movies.

But it's a dry heat. Oh, wait...

I'm just glad I got to see several F1 races when they still had the good engines.
Tech changes at Le Mans as well, but still sights and sounds and smells to behold I'm sure.

Always love to get a big whiff of burnt racing fuel.

Pre-mix for 2 stroke engines! That smell is nostalgic for me.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Daddies here. Enjoy your day.

Hubby’s laying in bed drinking coffee and watching soccer. He’s happy.

A bit gloomy here today, as in gray skies.
Way below the average temp for today (63° high today - 80° ave. high).
Saving some money on air conditioning, I guess?
