::Leader Board:: Ahnko Honu Takes The Lead Chapter 23!

I put my head down and powered through getting about 100 ukes online yesterday. They had come in freight and it took longer than Ohana thought because freight does not come to windy back roads. So they were supposed to go on before UK and France, then I had a ton of stuff when I got back. Nothing to write home about... a BUNCH of basic models because I am pre-planning for the future months, but it was busy and tedious work. But now orders and emails have piled up so I am going to be busy busy today.

My most recent foster dog is a small Dogo Argentino who was dying. He is ready for his home now. I will miss him. It is harder to part with the ones that came from deaths door to being a happy little puppy now.

Is a streak 5 or 10? I cant remember. Oh no, I really have been away too long. I have put the thread as a bookmark so I dont forget to check in with my Hos

Full = 10

But who's counting?

My kids are doing a creative writing exercise so I'm a little bored. Playing with the buttons on my shirt and discovered they're made with what looks like coconut shell. Need to find out if they are now.

Some are genuine, some are plastic.

I heard years ago that there are two features on Aloha shirts that may increase their value:
Maps in the pattern
Coconut buttons

No idea if it is true.

I have exactly two shirts that I know have coconut buttons, and one of them is a vintage silk shirt I treasure.

That’s really long, wow! They must have lived a long time. How wonderful.

They each made it to 95. Grandpa always said he wanted to go a minute after Grandma so she'd never have to be alone. Sadly, he passed a year before she did. She did okay during that year, but obviously without her partner of nearly 3/4 of her life it was hard. They were a sweet, sweet couple and very special people. Even into his 90s Grandpa would write love poems to her...

He does, and I get that. But why be in discomfort/pain if you don’t need to? Plus he’s going to get disoriented or worse and my grandmother is 90.

She looks really good though. I visited them for a little bit tonight. Last time I saw her was before we left for Hawaii and she looked tired and frail (she’s been out the last few times we visited; she goes to Indian casinos with her sisters :) )

I just don’t want him to go out in pain if he doesn’t need to.

Is he on hospice? They do a great job to minimize pain, no matter what course the patient chooses. They're all about comfort and quality of life in final days - if he's willing to meet with them it would probably be a benefit to everyone - it's awful to watch a loved one in pain.

Not yet.

In fact when I pulled up yesterday he was trying to move a potted plant in his front yard. "What the hell, I carried that thing and put it there and now I can't even budge it?!"

Me: "Grandpa, you moved here about 40 years ago. You were about my age now."

Grandpa: "Holy s**! You're that old?!"

I just got a phishing scam email using my principal's email.

They're now asking for 2 $100.00 amazon gift cards. They'll pay me back of course.

Any creative replies?

The last email states that he is a meeting about the Vedanta (sounded vaguely familiar so I googled; Hindu philosophy).

So now they're getting frustrated because I want to know what they're going to order. If I'm helping to pay I figure I have the right to know what I'm helping with.

They're buying a watch for a friend's son.

I just sent back a typo ridden email about the virtues of a bicycle versus an electronic device that can access games and social media.

They just sent an all caps message asking for the gift cards immediately.
