::Leader Board:: Ahnko Honu Takes The Lead Chapter 23!

Nobody except Kenvin had any suggestions for memorable eats in NYC?

Might have to turn to FB and start arguments over where I should go.

I've only been to NYC once and then for just a few hours.

Poor Mrs Pere. I’m so sorry your vacation started out rough but glad you have a great house sitter that goes the extra mile for your pets.
Here’s to a better day today in paradise, enjoy!

Yep. All good news this morning and kitty is back home.

Cha-ching

Chicagohenge?

Stonehenge is oriented to the solstices - winter and summer. I don't think anything special (anything celestial, anyway - people gather to party) happens there during the equinoxes.

Stone circles in Scotland have lunar orientation. Scholarship associates this with female rites and observances.

Very excited to watch the Warriors courtside tomorrow night.

I offered to pay for the tickets my friend gave me. Another friend chimed in "See those last two watches he bought that you can see on his wrist in his posts? Pretty sure each one is more than you make in a year as a teacher. He doesn't need your money, he's good!"

That circle of friends is hilarious. They rib each other about everything and we've all known each other and each other's families since we were in high school.

On the Island
We do it Island style
From the mountain to the ocean
From the windward to the leeward side.

Really looking forward to that windward side.

There are about 6-8 of us that go out once or twice a year for a "boys night out" which is pretty much everyone making fun of everyone else and catching up. We've been doing that for close to 40 years now.

We used to just divide the check but as people became more successful people just started covering the check for the night. And as people become financially successful the bills became larger and larger. Last time we went out I covered the check because it seemed like it was my turn since I hadn't paid in a while. It's kind of whomever grabs the check and successfully argues with the others trying to pay, pays.

Long story to say that I grew up with a great bunch of friends. A few days after I paid I started getting checks in the mail from about five of the guys thanking me for paying and gently trying to say that they could more easily afford to pay the bill and they didn't want me to have to pay for it and to accept their checks.

As much as we make fun of each other, we also look out for each other. I thought is was cool they offered to pay but I sent all their money back explaining that I extorted my kids for extra spending money. :)

Aside from the diabetes, the bad ticker and the never going to be rich doing this job. I have a great life with great friends (you guys included)!

Really looking forward to that windward side.

Considering the underpants situation, as long as I'm windward of you everything should be just fine.

I'm betting I would lose this contest to everyone here. I'm not very well traveled.

I have been to Manhattan three times:
Once (for about two months) when I was seven or eight years old - I even went to PS86 while I was there.
Again when I was in 7th grade. I remember we went to Tavern on the Green.
Lastly, went on a work trip, and took Nanilei with me, that was in 1997 I think.
On that trip, I remember going to a deli, getting two sandwiches, a beer, and a Coke, and it was $85.

I love Hilo side. Three sisters strawberry mochi.
K's for plate lunch.
One of these days we have to get to Merrie Monarch.

And have you ever visited Chuck? Just the drive to his place is worth it, the company is a bonus :D
