Got my second one done. This one came out better (and only took me 6 weeks, compared to 5 months for #1). I refined the design a bit - enlarged the lower bout, as well as enlarged the headstock.

Plus I used better wood -
Top: Western Red Cedar
Back, sides, fretboard, bridge: Walnut
Neck: Cherry.

When I first strung it up, it was real punchy and mid-rangey, and sort of muddy. After a few days, the muddiness is going away and it's opening up. Still real punchy.

Note the extra grafts in the back... it's actually a four-piece back (didn't have walnut wide enough.) . Worked out nicely.

This time, some sound/video samples (not great sound quality, but hopefully the uke sound comes through)

Very nice, especially for only second uke.
It does have more of a "super concert" sound with the smaller body.

Its good to see that you have progressed so quickly. I hope we will see many more ukes from you. This one looks much better than no 1, and the internal work looks very neatly done.

I also think it helps that you can play your ukes, its a great incentive to want to make better and even better instruments.
