I started playing the day after Hokulea made its first landfall in Florida two years ago. Last week I bought a Kamaka HF3 and I'm striving to be worthy of it. I wish there was an actual uke teacher where I live rather than dabbling guitarists, so thanks, Aldrine and others who teach online.
I never touched a uke in all the years I lived in Hawaii. In retrospect I have no idea why. I'd be SO good by now.
*If you don't know, Google Hokulea. It will be worth your time.
